Why when I look at all finding jobs websites, there are not many jobs available for almost all college majors?

Its not just that too many people are going to college, its also because the economy has caused buisinesses to downsize and lay off people. The only field in which jobs are really readily available is health care. However you are right, most schools are experiencing too many students. I know of quite a few colleges where they have too many students and not enough dorm rooms. My cousin is currently being forced to sleep in one of the common rooms in her dorm because there arent enough dorms. College degrees just arent worth what they are used too and most people who get them are ending up in dead end jobs because nothing is available in their field and there are thousands of others looking for the exact same job. It's really a shame.

Actually, I'm not really afraid of being unemployed after I graduate from college. Many, many companies are actively seeking electrical engineers, especially from my college, and almost all of them are offered a job right before they graduate, meaning that they'd have a job as soon as they're done with college. And for you not to even think it's because of the economy is ignorance at its utmost. Of course the economy has to do with it. With a good economy, you can expect to produce more to meet increased demand, and to meet with increased demand, you must increase supply, and to increase supply, you need more workers. Hence, more jobs. See how that works?

Keep thinking it's not because of economy if that helps you think 0bama is doing a good job. I guess they still don't teach common sense in schools.

Yeah, I know your pain. I was in your position a few years ago despite majoring in Biology. A bachelor's degree is the new high school diploma. Grad school is the new bachelor's degree. It doesn't take intelligence or hard work to get through college anymore. Many state schools will pretty much give you a degree if you just show up to class, pay and fill out some paperwork. Everyone and their mother has a college degree now. Go to grad school. It won't guarantee you a job either, but it vastly increases your ability to get a job and one that pays considerably higher. Just don't get a degree in theater arts or English or something like that, unless you are extremely talented in those subjects and/or want to become a professor. I know it sucks to throw another boatload of student loans on the pile, but sometimes that's your only option because you can't pay them off unless you increase your earning power. Right now Sallie Mae owns my soul. I owe them a small house's worth of money and will probably be their indentured servant for the next 20 years, but I still net more than most of my degree-less friends.
