What are the positive aspects of the death penalty?

The Death Penalty is almost never used in America even for Murder! What happened?

• Of all the total crimes which really deserve the death penalty, its almost never used. Now its only used for extreme murder and even thats highly unlikley to get a death sentence. Child Molesters, never get the death penalty. Even if someone did get the death penalty, they would wait on death row for decades and by the time they die, its just from old age. You can kill and rape dozens of kids and your guaranteed to be spared if your slightly crazy, take medication, too young (17), too old (everyone feeling sorry for a weak looking old man!), live in a state that doesnt have a death penalty at all. Not only that but the Government is so obsessed with making sure the criminal scum gets a painless humane death like a lethal injection! Back then criminals would get hanged, strangled, decapitated, boiled in oil, ect. Why is this? What happened to the old days when crimes like arson, burglery, assault, concealing a birth, conspiracy to murder, counterfeiting, desertion, espionage, forgery, grand larceny, kidnapping, piracy, rape, robbery, theft, treason, sodomy, bestiality, witchcraft would all get you executed? A long time ago a black kid as young as 14 years old was excecuted at only 14 for killing a white girl! Can you imagine if they did that today? He would be out in less than 10 years for that now! Is America becoming a nation of wussies? Whats the point of even having a death penalty if its hardly ever used? We have DNA to be able to better prove the crimes!
