From what nation did the Dutch provinces within the Union of Utrecht declare their Independence in 1581?

If The South secedes, do you think Obama would let them go, or would he declare war on them?

  • Several states are considering using the 10th Amendment to declare themselves independent entities and leave the union, becoming associated states only. http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/ The current point is being taken to the courts and it may be decided next year. A State has the right to reject the elected POTUS as their leader, and to base that rejection on the fact that the POTUS has no ties to the majority nation in such states. As a matter of fact, whites in the South are seen as a Nation separated from the other Nations who constitute the USA (read the article The United States is Not a Nation where the point is made that the original meaning of the word Nation is "a group of people who shared a similar racial, cultural, and religious background"). Since Obama is neither Christian, nor American in culture, nor white (according to them), they cannot accept him as their president and, as per the 10th Amendment, have the right to secede. So this is not a matter to be taken lightly. Please follow the link and see for yourself. I myself in no way, shape or form endorse these people, but I can see their point.

The fact that Obama is a Christian, is an American, and is half white, throws all that garbage where it belongs. In other words, they haven't got a case, if that's what they're basing it on. And it's sad that you say you "can see their point." Really? What point is that?

Obama declaring war on anybody isn't going to happen. This is the same president whose administration calls terrorist attacks "man made disasters".

How quaint to imagine that we are still living in the 1860s. If you imagine that secession is at all possible for any state in the US, given our interdependency, you have had your head in a dark place for most of your life. What possible benefit could secession have for a state? Do you imagine a separate New Confederacy could possibly support itself or gain recognition from any other nation? Do you imagine a New Confederacy could defend itself against any other nation (non-US) that wanted to invade or destroy it? And when you say "Several states", can you possibly mean that the elected governments, the combined peoples and the combined business interests of those states (whichever you may be referring to) would allow secession? Your question is pointless, because it is based on an absurdity.

No way, He has too many worshipers in the South. It's the Tea Party he wants to destroy.

nice enzytes. Actually I doubt it would happen.

nonsense

I, and millions of others in the South, would go guerrilla against the reactionary secessionists. This "right to secede" nonsense was settled a century and a half ago. If the insane right makes us, we'll settle this again. And we wouldn't expect much help from the establishment liberals and conservatives in Washington. Heck, Obama and the liberals would be whining about "negotiations," and half the conservatives would be closet rebels. During the last Civil War, one out of every four Southern soldiers fought for the UNION. This time it would be more like nine out of ten. And THIS time, we would imprison the rebel leaders after their evil enterprise was defeated, instead of pursuing false dreams of "reconciliation." Any of them that survived capture, that is. You can't "reconcile" with someone who wants you dead or enslaved. And that's what reactionaries have in mind for minorities and poor whites. .

I don't think so after all it will be a democratic move

Your first mistake was believing anything you read on that site.
