Why is it that mainly conservatives always vote against endangered species?
-
Seriously, I'm not looking for a debate. I know its an election year but I'm not trying to down either side. I read about how Palin ignored several scientific studies that promoted placing polar bears on the endangered species list (even though they are clearly declining like crazy). And then I turn around and read about how the Bush administration tried to take the Grey Wolf off the endangered species list to allow people to start hunting them again even though it was clear that they were still endangered. Why is it mainly conservatives that always seem to go against endangered species?

Don't you know that they care more about profits than they do about living, sentient beings? Sure, they may spout out a lot of gibberish about how "pro-life" they are, but haven't you noticed that they're usually the ones who vote against legislation that would benefit children who are already born? Sure, they want children to live, but they just don't want them to live WELL.

I agree with Tangerine. She hit the nail on the head.

first off polar bear numbers are fine, there numbers are larger then in the past.when you put animals above humans i have a problem with that.if an animal is declared endangered there are so many regulations placed and common sense thrown out the window. as far as hunting wolves through the air,it is to control the population, would you rather them be tramped? terrain is not the type ,as to allow normal hunting. i used to be a strong believer in the endangered species act, then i looked at whole picture and see it is nothing but a waste of time and money
phil
When you look at the real picture, we are the endangered species.

agrred! palin is for shooting wolves from the air! now thats hunting!

Polar bears are not declining like crazy. Their numbers have been growing since the 1980's. Do some research instead of listening to global warming nuts. Canada just increased the number of hunting licenses for polar bears because they are starting to overpopulate. Besides polar bear taste great.

Mainly because we feel that people are more important than animals, and history has proven that animals adapt to changing environments. It a basic food chain event. Perhaps, your "clarity" is flawed when you insist something is clear. Since animals do not vote, i fail to see what an election year has to do with it.
