Do you think that interest groups have too much power?

Do you think that the power of special-interest groups and PACs improves or corrupts the U.S. political system?

  • How, if at all, would you control or restrict their power? Ideas anyone please? I'm kind of stuck in the middle on this one ithink soecial interest groups in a way both corrupts and improves the u.s! what do other people think?

  • Answer:

"special interest..." You answered your own question, these groups have their own interests and goals and most of them dont go with the best interest of the country. Think of AIPAC, the Israel Lobby, I like to call it "I"pac, because it is really all about israel and if you look at all the speeches anyone gives in front of the AIPAC crowd, it is all in favor of israel. You rarely hear the media denegrate israel, because they own our politicians. Council on Foreign Relations, The Bilderbergs etc... I heard Obama say once these are just groups that discuss foreign policy. Yeah, okay, they have 4500 members, I dont think they just discuss foreign policy. So yes, these groups have their own objectives and it seems no one points it out.

Yes, without a doubt they do. There is too much power/ money there. I'm pretty sure they would be unconstitutional if it were reviewed by the supreme court.
