Why did the Lottery Winner in Michigan lost Food Stamp benefit? Do you think that's wrong?

Welfare conservatives have been gaming the system for many years. Don't trip. They haven't been caught. Because no one is looking at what they do.

The only people upset about her losing her benefits are her fellow Tea Party members.

It's right. And I think the Bull guy has a soiled Pull Up on.

God, I hope you're trolling! It would be appalling that people actually believed what she did was alright.

God help us. Really? I hope you need food stamps and they cannot give them to you because they gave their last food stamps to her. Give people stuff for free and they get greedy and stupid.

The problem is that during the recession some states waived the asset test so that people who lost their jobs through no fault of their own did not have to burn through their retirement account to qualify for a hand up in hard times. The premise was a good one, but a loop hole for examples such as our lottery winners. Michigan closed this loop hole but not all have yet. She was not breaking the law BUT in my opinion was ethically wrong! I'm glad she no longer receives assistance. SNAP is meant to be a hand up in hard times not a way of life as she seemed to take it, her attitude of "deserve" it as "I have bills" showed. I also agree with another post - suspect she will be broke again soon - but if she has assets such as those houses she bought - she still will not qualify. No sympathy for her - just hate it if she has children who are in this mess through no fault of theirs.

After she won the lottery she had too much in assets to be eligible for food stamps. So if she continued to try and use them, that's fraud.
