Why do so many Cons think the 2nd Amendment is all about duck hunting, and where is gun mentioned it's arms?

I don't think it is about duck hunting as much as it is about protecting the rest of the Constitution from tyrants. But you obviously didn't read #1 in your definition: 1. Usually, arms. weapons, esp. FIREARMS.

LOOK-- No one is going to force YOU to buy and own a gun. You are not going to take away anyone else's. You're wasting your time and ours. Obviously, I misunderstood your q. Do you plan on heavy artillery, missiles and cannons? I think Clinton did Waco for less...

The 2nd Amendment is rightfully suppose to allow the citizens to protect themselves against their own government.

arm: –noun 1. Usually, arms. weapons, esp. firearms. I think the 2nd Amendment covers guns since it is a firearm. A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. My understanding is that everyone can own a weapon. By owning that weapon I/they have become a part of the nation's defense if attacked. It does not mean that I'm/they are a part of the Standing Army. The founders knew what a standing army is, they just fought one. But the Militia (anyone owning a firearm) could be asked to defend the nation if attacked. I know of no one that won't use their privately own firearms to just that so they doing exactly what they 2nd amendment allow the firearms for.

I'm a gun owner and I don't hunt.

You have it backward. Liberals watch too many action movies. They think guns are about blowing people away. Conservative know history. To 'bear Arms' mean to protect one's self. You can only do that with equality of force. If anyone has a gun that could be used agianst me, I have a right to the equal force of having a gun for protection.

What do you have against duck hunting?

Actually, the argument I hear from many gun control advocates is that certain weapons have no sporting value. Seldon, that clause is called a preamble. It does not change the rest of the sentence.
