Is a Toyota Prius a less expensive hybrid to drive than a Chevy Volt?

  • If so, why would you buy a Chevy Volt instead of a Toyota Prius? My neighbor still has an old early 2000s Honda Insight that gets like 50 mpg. The insurance is cheap and the car is extremely reliable. It's just slow.

  • Answer:

People buy these pieces of crap as a statement of their holier-than-thou self-assessment. When I see someone driving these things I know that I am looking at a monumental **** hole.

Hybrids are full of crap Diesel cars ftw

Drive a VW TDI. Those are reliable, and average 50 mpg. EDIT: Yeah dude, the Jetta, Passat, and Golf TDI average about 50 mpg from what I've heard. They are also pretty fast due to the high torque since the engines run on pure air/diesel compression in the cylinders. I drive a 02 Audi TT quattro, same chassis as the Jetta, Golf, and Beetle. Come on, they even use v10 TDI engines in the LMP1 class of the Le Mans Series and Audi has been collecting wins all over the seasons.

Yes, the Volt doesn't get enough miles on battery life, plus the price point is too high. And it's ugly.
