The right to not be enslaved by democrats. I'm no American but didn't Republicans fight to free the slaves.

TAX BREAKS......LOL

They want "government to get off their back and give them their freedom" unless it's a woman's rights as to what goes on in her body, or a man's right to marry another man (they actually don't mind lesbians too much, it turns them on)

Each of these groups are all accorded the SAME RIGHTS as everyone else BUT they want SPECIAL rights over and beyond what everyone else has. That is the problem.

You can't vote for/against a movement. Take a civics class since you must have been busy doing something else in 7th grade.

Please quit telling lies. The Republican Party was the Party that drove through Civil Rights legislation while Democrats, including Al Gore's Father fought viciously to prevent passing the civil Rights bill. Then we have KKK member Senator Byrd of West Virginia still being elected by Democrats. Have you ever heard of "Dirty" Harry Reid?

Why should their be civil/gay/womens rights when the constitution already promises it for all. Its just ridiculous because its already covered. lets Pass some laws that are already there so we can feel better I don't support any special rights for gay people

not all conservative are anti-women's movement, anti-civil rights' movement, and anti-gay rights' movement. those are the ones you call "reactionaries" or the extreme right. conservatives are more along the lines of center right, they are for new ideas but they hold strong to traditions how how things were. more conservative support women's rights movement, civil rights movement but they are unsure about gay rights movement. some are for gay rights but they think gay marriages would ruin the tradition of marriage that has been traditionally between a man and a woman, but they would make civil unions cover everything that a traditional marriage will and make it close to equal as possible. marriage is a very touchy subject and the conflict why is that straight people believe its a tradition that must not be messed with while others believe that marriage is between two people who love each other no matter what the gender or sexuality. marriage is a monogamous tradition and should only between two people. there is no reason to fear that gay marriages will open Pandora's box. there are strict boundaries that are not to be crossed, sexuality is not one of those boundaries. I personally lean towards gay marriages a little but if civil unions offer the same protections as straight marriages and will be recognized nation wide then that should be good enough for me. it is up to the state to decide what they want and not the federal government, but I hope all states would support it someday

Then tell me why Obama won CA, but gays lost the battle? Tell me why it was Bill Clinton who signed DOMA, curbing gay marriage rights for decades?
