How are dentists like in Iraq?

Why do you think that so many American citizens have no clue about anything that was happening in Iraq?

  • Ok, I must admit for a time, i was misguided but I did my research and i think i found the "truth"...Well as much as the truth that I'm going to get. And before i must admit I thought the "war" was all about OIL and thought that Bush had no idea what he was doing( wish in some points that remains true) and disliked Bush with a passion and wanted our troops home saying that there is "no point to this war with Iraq". I guess I'm interested in politics and knew that my thinking was somehow simple and misguided by the gossip of people and what not, so I did some research and found out I knew about nothing about the war. This war(if you'd like to still call it that) is almost ending anyways, and we have made major improvements in Iraq, with their newly built infrastructure and other many points. I don't hear any of this in the news or anywhere. And I was wondering what type of country has the majority of the people have no clue why their countries at war?(i don't want to go into the details cause it'll take tooooooo long) I know Bush was part of the earlier problem when his accusations on the invasion of Iraq was proven false, like Iraq having Wmds and Iraq helping out Al-Queda, so American citizens refused to listened to anything more. But there was a bit of truth in that statement. Iraq did use Wmds in the past and Saddam Husein even claimed that he did have wmds and were planning to use them on Iran( I hope that information is correct). So he didn't just deliberately lie to us Americans( He might have been misguided too. Even though this information and other Saddam Hussein earlier deeds served as an excuse after 9/11 to invade and set our military presence in Iraq ) . Well anyways it just bothers me, I didn't know that much at first and thought the newscast would be a sufficient source but I guess not. And then my previous thoughts that American troops should've returned home since, I don't feel that would be the best idea either. We have a responsibility to make sure everything was settled and alright with Iraq before we left. We couldn't like " JUST LEAVE " and cause bigger problems in the middle east and have the deaths of thousands more Iraqi citizens on our hands. And alot of people thought that and still think that. I don't even dislike Bush all that much anymore. Sure i still blame him on his failed strategy and that he didn't know all the facts before he invaded Iraq which is causing our economic crisis right now, but there are still points where he did ok on. And i can see now that the extremely low support of troops in Iraq is because people don't know what the heck they're doing there! I mean, thats seriously flawed. Is it supposed to be that hard to get true and correct informations on ones country affairs? *Maybe since I'm just a teen and didn't pay much attention to the news casts all that much,(Maybe they did give all of this information out and I didn't know) and when i did, i just remember bombs in Iraq, people dying, and Bush's lies. And then i heard the rumors about oil oil and Iraq and that formed my naive thoughts but I just wish someone would've informed me. And maybe why noone around me did was because they didnt know either or ... didn't bother..

  • Answer:

If you can't spell Al-Qaeda correctly, you need to do a little bit more research to get to the "truth". And yes, I don't agree with the Iraq War but this is just BS.

1.) The whole point is Bush lied about the invasion to advance his domestic agenda 2.) My sons shouldn't have to die in a war based on lies 3.) My sons shouldn't have to die for a President that uses said war to divert attention from his domestic agenda. 4.) Bush hatred isn't really about the war... it's just the icing on the cake.

It is because they only see what is on the news and that information is spun out of control to please the listener/watcher, not to truly inform. The real reason we are over there is to maintain a foothold in Iraq should we have to fight Iran, North Korea, etc. We were tired of flying around tight lines and paths and it was only getting narrower. Now when it becomes stable, if ever, we will have a free airport for life and troops always ready.

In pursuit

Most *adults* are too busy making a living and trying to make ends meet to concern themselves with the government It is easier just to leave it to the Democrats and the Republicans to sort out things. But as you said in your letter.(question) it is people dying over OIL Oil is the lifeblood of the world. More valuable then gold or diamonds Oil=money$=power and power is an aphrodisiac for all those old fools in government.. I don't dislike Bush either or Obama or McCain as we are all humans I wish people would remember this in the election process and just use their brain and elect a man or women..of any race or relation or no religion who is going to best serve this country. Who knows the long effect of George W. Bush jr.? History will judge him as History will tell who the real heroes and villains are during this troubled times. Just do the best you can and learn that man is always been his own worst enemy. A man will never be mature enough for a true relationship..that is why I am glad women bring out the better side in all of us. God Bless you and I hope you prosper and always look at the positive side of life.. Life can be wonderful if we have FAITH

everybody loves 3000

I think the majority of Americans can't tell you the name of another state in the country let alone anything about the government.

good job you figured it out. i work with the soldiers that are returning from their 4th tour of iraq. those same soldiers are looking forward to seeing the progress in iraq when they go again. iraqis have never had it so good. the local iraqis are seeing how good things can be if they just let us do the job and start running off the alqaida or turning them in. things are going good over there. how often is it in the news now? not very often because we are actually getting things accomplished.

Sounds like your ahead of the game. Your a teenager and looking into things on your own are a good thing. You have learned not to trust the media...they will only tell you what is in the best interest of their ideals. I learned it when Reagan was running against Carter in 1980 the media portrayed Reagan as being a Cowboy (sound familiar?) and only a actor form "Bed Time With Bonzo". Just to keep it short after Reagan's first term I realized where the media stood....Dan Quail is stupid Al Gore is a genius and so on. I wonder if the fact that for months know the news hasn't kept a daily tally of soldiers dyeing in Iraq made you go hmmm whats going on? I and my friends new when the tallies stopped we were winning....good news is never reported in the traditional media. My opinion is we were right in going to Iraq Saddam was a thorn in everyones side. America wasn't the only country saying he had WMDs. I believe all of the European counties agreed. Seems like since Vietnam when things get tough people want to run and blame someone. So keep asking questions and finding answers on your own.

Because the media doesn't want you to know that the war is over, we won, and the troops are going to come home soon.
