What are your thoughts on censorship?

I don't agree with government censorship. I believe that people should be able to express themselves freely, and if other people find the expressed material offensive, then they don't have to read/watch/listen to it, or if their concern is for their children, then they can buy a private program to block the undesired material. Censorship is a violation of freedom of expression.

Governments NEVER censor things, or classify things, to keep their enemies from learning about them. Their enemies already know. It's their PEOPLE that censorship is aimed at.. .

Political correctness is a form of censorship, look at what they are trying to do to Huck Fin.

I don't favor it, but I'm also against stiff penalties for whipping somebody's @ss if they piss you off. I'm in the "strongly opposed" camp when it comes to sexual predators of any kind and don't find that my tolerance level is adequate for people to say, exhibit, or do just whatever they want within my proximity. But hey, that's just my hang up.

Completely against it. Let everyone take responsibility for themselves (and their children) and decide what they can and can't handle. It shouldn't be up to anyone else to censor me from what I want to see and hear. Don't like something? Learn how to use a remote and how to turn things off.

These ******* censors are nothing but a bunch of ******* ********. These days, it's getting so you can't ******* speak without some ******* censor climbing all over your *** and threatening you with fines or jail. It's all about trapping your *** into paying fines and making US richclass slavers richer than ****. They can all go to ****.

Most people say they're against censorship, but if you propose allowing private television networks to air pornography at three o'clock in the afternoon on a Tuesday, they'll be for censorship in a heartbeat. I'm firmly against government censorship of private actors depicting legal and/or consensual acts.

Government should have nothing to do with communications of any kind. People are intelligent enough to police themselves, they don't need someone to tell them what is good for them or not. It's all about control, the government controls the media therefore controls the way people think. 1984, anyone?
