Can I join the Russian Armed Forces?

Can I join the armed forces (Air Force, Army, Navy, and the Marines)?

  • I am living in the U.S. on an F-2 status. I am a senior in high school and I plan on going on to medical school after I achieve a bachelors degree in biology. My mother is here on F-1 status. My family is not financially stable so I will most probably have to pursue another career. The only options I can see is that I can join one of the armed forces branch, find lots of scholarships or find a college willing to help international students with financial aid. I was wondering if I can join one of the branches of the armed forces on my F-2 status? Also, does anyone know of any colleges that offers international students a great amount of financial support? Also, are there any scholarships that help international students studying in the U.S. ? Thank you very much for your help.

    You need to have Permanent Resident Status with your Green Card before you can join the military.

Private colleges don't generally award institutional aid based on immigration status, so think about private colleges, though it is quite late to be applying to the type of well endowed colleges that have private financial aid to award to international students for the Fall of 2011. F-2 status has to be changed to F-1 to pursue study in college. Can't join the Armed Forces on F-2 status. Good Luck!

Anybody that has the legal right to work in the U.S. is allowed to join any branch of the military. I know because when I was in the military there were several people who were not U.S. citizens.

I suppose, but i would join the Marines first because then you can just cross over into the US Army and most likely without a doubt the US Air Force. No boot camp training required, all you got to do is read a guide on how to wear the uniform.
