Can I get paid for mandatory training?

Is there anyway that you can get paid before you go to army basic training?

  • The army has delayed my date ship out to basic training because my recruiter said that my unit is overstaffed and they are about to deploy. I met this unit a week before bct date but because of the unit is overstaff and recruiters haven't received the paperwork from meps so that will have date and time to ship to bct they will have to sign me to a different unit and change my bct date. Is there any chance i can start getting paid before bct?

  • Answer:

Only if you go to drill.

not a chance of pay or an advance........if you are short of cash then work as a day labourer or that sort of thing....get a loan from a family member...........

no

of course not. you haven't earned any pay until you ship out.

Talk to your recruiter...you cannot get paid, but maybe they can give a housing allowance...
