Anyone been to Yongsan Garrison recently?

  • My husband recently got orders to Yongsan Garrison and he of course wants our two year old daughter and myself to come along with him. I was just wondering if anyone else had recently been there and could give me some insight on whether or not you liked it, whethers its worth it, and just your overall experience. Thanks. It would be greatly appreciated :)

    It is a really big base. If you can stand the smell of the country it should be A OK! is it worth it, of course. Its not everyday you get to go to Korea ya know.

Korea isn't that bad. Good food and great shopping. If you want to go he needs to put in the paperwork for command sponsorship now. There is no guarantee it will be approved. The weather can get a bit harsh. It will extend his tour for two years if you go.

Yes it is the party toru, so you may want to keep hubby away from the korean liquor the so-ju. They have great churches there on post if you go to church, everything is in Korean/English, I only got lost once on t he subway. There is abus that goes to every American base if you get bored of shopping outside of Yongsun, because there is shopping outsid eof every base, I liked shopping underneath the subways however and eating the spicy Korean food.
