What does a game designer do?

I'm a high school junior, so should I join the military or be a video game designer? What is more reasonable?

  • I want to go to college and become a video game designer but the military is a guarenteed job and I scored a 66 on my ASVAB so I have recruiters calling me and I have to make a decision by next month so I can go to basic over the summer, I don't know to try to become a designer or join the army

My brother is a softmore and he wants to become a video game designer too. Either is reasonable, but its basically what you want to do the most? Do you want to fight for your country or do what you want and design games? If you chose the military- I wish you the best wishes(: If you chose video game designing- I reccomend trying to get a job with video game testing to start you off and taking animation classes(:

Do both. Join the army as Satellite communications with that asvab. Ask your Army recruiter about the program they have where after you complete like 3 years of service you can go to school full time and only come into work once a week. It's a sweet deal. I got a 65 on my asvab but I joined the Navy, been doing it for 8 years and never went on a ship. All I do is support Army/Navy SpecWar. I wish I had just joined the Army. Good luck brother

go to the marines as a electrical engineer. and when you come out every school is going to want you.

military looks great when searching for a job. i suggest do the military and get into computers, then go to college
