Which language would be the best for middle tier?

Im in the military, whats a good middle eastern language to study?

  • I am in the Air Force, and am training for special forces. In the mean time, i want to learn a middle eastern language for a good advantage in my career. What is a good primary language middle eastern countries speak that would help me, Such as what al qaeda speaks, or some other commonly used language?

In Afghanistan you've got Dari and Pashto, since that's our main focus those would be good ones. I'm learning Persian-Farsi, which is another good one, they speak it in Iran. What helps is that many languages in Central Asia speak a form of Persian. For example, I'm told that Farsi will be mostly understood by a Dari speaker. I know the Air Force provides Rosetta Stone free for officers, not sure about Enlisted, I would ask the base education office, it's a very good program!

From hardest to less hard: Arabic, Persian Farsi, or Urdu (spoken in Pakistan.)

It depends were you will be serving. Do to the current situation I would definatly have to say study Arabic.
