Nope not the SR-71. It is the X-43, which reached mach 9.6. The SR 71 is the fastest non experimental airplane. The X-15 went mach 6.2 and is the fastest manned aircraft, but some say since it has a rocket engine it is not really an airplane. The X-43 is an unmanned experimental aircraft flown by NASA and launched from a B-52, the X-15 also launches from a B-52. Of the three, only the SR-71 can take off on it's own has only jet engines.
