How can I join the FDNY?

Can i ask for a combat deployment?

  • i know war isnt like the movies and the cocky assholes get shot first but i want to know because ive been wanting to join since i was little and when 911 happened i saw wtc fall right outside my window but i was only in 4th grade also lost many family members in the fdny so can i be deployed or maybe even Korea because my mos is 21bravo so there gonna need me to dismantle all those mines on the 38th Parallel

there is no greater joy than knowing you've served your country. its like being part of a tradition and legacy. other men before you have kicked the @$$ of Germans and Japanesse, English and Mexicans and Southern Scum. Personally I take great pride in being a soldier. The insurgent in Iraq and Taliban are, you will see, lousy and cowardly. When you kill your first one, remember, you made the world a better place. You probably saved American lives as well as locals' by doing that. That way you will not feel remorse. Its a good thing to kill terrorists. The fact that this upsets liberals back home means youre doing something right. Many in our country are selfish and yellow.

You can always volunteer, does not mean you will get it. I know an Army 1st LT. who volunteered twice to go to Iraq and was turned down both times. BTW, Korea is not considered a combat deployment.

You can request any assignment you want,but they're going to send you where they need you to serve.

you can volunteer but its no guarantee on when you will go, my fiance put in his volunteer paper work two years ago and was just sent a few months ago.
