Where is the best station to PCS in Italy?

How can i pcs to the duty station i want?

  • my mom has stage 3 lymphoma and she lives on the west coast of the u.s and i am stationed on the east and i want to be closer to her due to her illness so i wanted to know who can i call or what can i do to try to get stationed closer to where she lives?

    You can apply for compassionate reassignment, providing there's a slot for your MOS at the nearest military installation to her. There are two types: Temporary, where the issue is expected to be resolved within a year, and those which are not expected to be resolved within a year. Your situation looks like one they would approve (at least in the Army), so I recommend that you apply. The worst thing they'll do is deny your request, and you won't be in any worse position if they do. Best wishes.

You can try for a compassionate reassignment. If you are in the Army you can try to call your branch manager and request assignment as well.

Alot of times you are given a couple of choices as too where you want to PCS, that is usually 2 or 3 places you can choose. But ultimately it is the needs of the service for where they want you to go. But if you want, depending on what service you are in, you can request to speak to a high ranking person, like a command Master Chief in the Navy or a Master Sergant or First Sergant in the Army and see if they can help you get where you want to go. But just a side note if she does end up on her death bad (I am sorry for putting it that way) than make sure you get ahold of your services aid society. They can help you get home, they will pay for your travel in working with your command. your best option is to seek a compassionate( or Humanitarian) Reassignemnet. but Mom being sick isn't necessarily going to be enough. you would have to show conclusively that there is no one else who can care for her and that she cannot care for herself. and of course they have to be able to find a place for you.
