Weekend job.

Can someone in the us army have a weekend job without getting into trouble?

  • Answer:

You can get a second job if you want to as long as you get commander's approval and it isn't something that brings discredit to the Army (a female Soldier working as a stripper would probably be a big no-no). Your military duties have priority, so if you are scheduled for CQ or have to go to the field then you will just have to miss work.

Yes. It depends on your dutys. If you are active duty your civilian job can not interfer with your military obligations. You need permision from your superiors also.

In my experience you could but your military duties would most likely interfere with your weekend job. Your Commander would realize this and disapprove it, besides the Army will keep you busy enough so you won't have time to do anything else. The Answer Man---Al Cote

sure but remember army comes first and if they need you on the weekend you will go

depends.. you may not while in training but once you get to your duty station, with permission from your CO you can have a part time job.. so long as it does NOT interfere with your normal military duties.
