Info on 0621 USMC field radio operator?

• Hello. I am leaving for USMC bootcamp Nov 14 and my mos is 0600 communications. I am a 20 year old male with two years of college but I want to do something different with my life. I hope to earn the 0621 field radioman position. I wanted to do 0311 infantry rifleman but all those jobs are completely full till next year in my area. I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me: A.) What 0621 school is like and where it is B.) What are the possibilities of being attached to an infantry unit ( that's what I hope to do) C.) What kind of work will I be doing on a daily basis D.) And a little more inside information other than the (military.com) basic mos description of the job is like! E.) Why is it that the 0621 field radioman is recieiving a $4,000 bonus (because the fatality rates are higer?) I hope to become an infantry officer later on in my career after I use the GI bill to complete college..Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you

  Your school is in 29 Palms, CA. And no, the bonus is not because of the fatality rate. The bonus is there because it simply is being offered, so take it. Who knows in what type of unit you end up. Radio men are found in most units, so who knows. And just so you know. Just because you end up in an infantry battalion, this doesn't mean you'd be attached to a line company. Very few RO's get to be attached to companies. Read through the below linked site which is written by a Radio Operator who served in an infantry unit.
