What happen to Geo City?

What do you think is going to happen? City official called in my plate number?

  • I was going roughly 50 MPH with a rap song with a heavy bass blaring when I passed a truck that was on the side of the road going like 5 MPH and slowed down to like 30 MPH to pass him and went way over. Then, as I drove a few meters down the road, I came to a guy walking his dog and I slowed way down and actually stopped to let a cat cross that was a few feet away from them. I went down, picked a girl up, and drove back down the street and the truck, who was a city official, stopped me, told me he had my tag number, that the guy with the dog said he wanted to beat the crap out of me for speeding, and that he was going to call it into the police department. The speed limit is 25 where the dog was and 15 where the truck was because it is a city park on the lake. However, it is winter, so there wasn't anybody there except for a pretty much parked car and one guy walking a dog in the middle of the street, who I stopped for. I think that if the music wasn't playing, I would have been fine because it had a sub-conscious effect on their minds. What are the chances that the truck got my plate number correct? What are the odds that he will call it in? What are the odds that the cops will care? What will happen to me? I am 17 and the car is in my Dad's name. Will they call? Will my Dad ever have a way of finding out? Thanks so much.

  • Answer:

Since you weren't witnessed by a police officer or a speed camera I don't think you'll get a ticket this time. Consider it a warning.

Michael, The police will take no action even if notified. ...which is doubtful.

I hate to tell you but the standard punishment for this type of offense is the death penalty.

All they can do is file a complaint. If the city official files the complaint the cops might check up on it. However if all they have is the word of the city official and no one else, they probably will not do much about it. If the city official and the man walking the dog both file a complaint then the cops will probably pay you a visit and tell you to watch the speed limit. IMO driving 50 MPH in a 25 MPH and 15 MPH speed zone in the winter when streets could be slippery was at the very least reckless driving. Had a cop been there, you would have deserved a ticket.
