Traffic school to keep license?

• Okay, I currently have 8 points on my license (9 max allowed in Colorado for anyone under 21). I got another speeding ticket and now have to appear (going 35 in a 25).. I didn't even realize it dropped down to 25, since it goes 30, 25, then 30 again. But anyways, normally it's a 4 point violation for the ticket. If you appear in court and pay they cut it down to 2 point violation. But either way, 4 point or 2 point violation, I will still be over the 9 point maxium. What are my options to keep my license? The back of my ticket only lists options to: Pay the ticket online via creditcard/mail/check/internet or in person. It doesn't mention anything about traffic school. So when I appear in court, what do I ask? I'm hoping that you weren't suppose to do traffic school before appearing in court. I assumed that you had to request it when going to court, but I'm not postive since I've never taken traffic school before.

  I can't say for certain about Colorado but in California the traffic court judge will ask if you want to attend traffic school. If you indicate that you do want to attend traffic school, you will be given a form and an amount to pay for the traffic school. If the school notifies the court that you have completed traffic school within the specified period of time, the ticket will be purged from your record.
