My boyfriend's mom burned down her house on purpose to collect money and blamed her son for the fire?

Either he or the mom is going to jail.

Honestly if she's willing to let him go to jail than he should be willing to let her go. If money was that bad and she did that for that reason then why didn't she just make it look like an incident instead of blaming her kid. So unfair to him.

Tell him to plead not guilty. The great thing about this nation is that you can't be convicted of something based on what someone says. It's the DA's job to prove it. What evidence beside what the mom said does the police have? Is he in jail or out on OR? Does he have priors? How was the fire started? If he is definately willing to take the wrap for his mother, that's his choice. He's only looking out for the best interest of the family, even if his mom's a crook. A good investigator will question why would he start the fire? And who was looking to gain because of it. Basically what I'm saying is "take it to trial" never settle this is serious. On a different note, his mother definately needs help. Explain to him that if she can betray him she can do the same to his younger siblings. So, therfore, the best interest would be to get her away from them and get thrown in jail so she can reflect on her actions. Good luck.
