Whats the maximum penalty I can face for drawing graffiti on abandoned buildings/decrepit walls?

Answer:
Probably just a hefty fine, for vandalism or defacing property without the consent of the owner. If you buy your own place and do this on your own property, you have nothing to worry about. The guy that owns the building you plan on painting would probably not like that. Note that in some cities he might get a citation for this and have to remove the graffiti himself or face a fine. Hope you care enough to think about this.

They locked up a couple of out of towners in Detroit a couple of years back for doing that. Kept them in the clink for about 60 days. I'm guessing they left town quickly after they got out.
