How do I get out of student loan debt if I can't get a job after finishing psychology?

  • I thought it was cool to move out and study psychology But I now have significant debt due to student loans What can I do to get myself out of debt? I'm desperate for anawers It was cool to move out but it's not cool to get in debt because I'm stupid I thought that I would party and sleep around but I failed, got HPV and have student loan debt What can I do? I just wanted to be cool because my parents are divorced and they hate me so much. All they care about is themselves and their own problems I find that Muslim kids are better off than me because their family bond is strong and I done even have a family because my father didn't want to become a Muslim. He said that he would have to give up his lavish lifestyle which included orgies, alcohol, drugs and other things that would never be tolerated under sharia law So I grew up without a father and I'm just stupid Thanks for reading and I hope that you may become good people and don't study in stupid programs and get into massive debt because your father may not want to be a devout family man

    There is no way to "get out" of student loan debt except to pay off the loans. I also think that you are nuts to think that it is the parent's responsibility to foot the bill for your college education. You picked the school, you picked the major, it's on YOU. I smell a troll...

Sorry, blaming your father is total hog and you know this. I grew up without a father. Many people grew up without fathers and mothers. Your father did not pick the university course you did and he didn't make you move out. It's a shame you got HPV, but you did that, not your father. I have strong family values, I am not Muslim. Just because you are Muslim, doesn't mean you have strong family values or that you are successful. I see many poor Muslims where I live. So, basically, you just got out of uni and realised life aint fair and you can't blame yourself, so you blame everyone else. Sorry hun, time to grow up. Take a job in a local shop and work your butt off. Move into cheaper rental, houseshare with others and cut down your bills, make use of the skills you have and work your way up to a better job. You must have known what studying Psychology would have let to, so while you work at a low paid job, put your CV out as much as possible and find jobs in your industry. Do volunteer work at the weekend as well, good on your CV and good for experience. Perhaps someone who studied psychology, should get a little counselling themselves and have a good look at their own life, before looking at others. You can't blame your parents for everything!

Being stupid is not a permanent problem; it is cured by experience, study and hard work. No... there is no easy way to get out of your student loans - even bankruptcy won't work. There are government programs where you can get some relief on student loans by getting a teaching degree and agreeing to spend a number of years teaching in an impoverished area. The best route however, is to work hard to get a decent job and pay them all off. Welcome to real life.

1. You get a deferment on your student loan. This will stop payments (but not interest) on the loan until you find a job. 2. You go out and look for a job. They are not out looking for you, so you have to go looking for them. 3. When you find a job, you start paying your student loan off. Payments are generally low, and you have a long time to pay it off. If you can make extra payments, it cuts down the amount time it takes to pay it off. .

Well, you forebear your loans due to unemployment and then income adjust them when you do have a job.

Sounds like an attitude problem to me, talk to your Physiologist....
