What are the educational requirements for an FBI criminal investigator?

FBI Requirements (Accounting)?

  • I noticed that in the FBIs website it says that one of their required degrees is accounting. I am currently taking accounting in college but the part I dont understand is why is the accounting a requirement? I know they need skilled people but where would you work if you got in through accounting? Would you work as an accountant for the FBI or is that just a requirement and when hired you would be a agent????? Thanks

    Accounting is a field available at the FBI. You dont have to choose that field to be an agent. If you pursue a career as an accountant and join the FBI's accounting division you would work on cases involving financial fraud and white collar crimes. You can choose to go into another division so dont limit yourself to accounting unless that is something you are interested in.

watch this show called white collar. its about the fbi taking down white collar criminals.. its really nice there are lotsa different departments in fbi.. like the "white collar" division track financial related crimes and like look at accounts statements and stuff to see if the big bad corporate ppl are doing wrong things (like embezzling or avoiding taxes) remember al capone was arrested for tax evasion
