Legal Real Estate - Interesting Question?

• Queensland Housing (otherwise known as public housing) has completely ignored complaints by a relative over a number of years. It turns out that other people knew but were too fearful to complain least they get kicked out. The complaints (nothing to do with my earlier question) have resulted in considerable loss of earning power, income, reputation, and the opportunity to b uild a professional career. Additionally; a host of medical issues regarding serious stress and constantly been under attack have occured resulting in the tenant been unable to work, despite desperately wanting to do so. Queensland Housing did not act because they did not know how to respond. They were told, but the complaints were rather 'out there'. They targetted the tenant a nutter; it has been proven otherwise. Can a solicitor please advise if this Department can be sued, is there some kind of liability. They were told serious crime was occuring against other people-but because they did not understand the nature of the complaints just ignored the matters raised. Comments please - and only if you know what you are talking about.

  If someone believes their civil rights have been violated by a public agency (including negligence), they may sue in federal court under 42 USC s. 1983.
