What are the rights of a minor regarding parental authority?
-
First, are parents allowed to dictate who you can and cannot talk to? like, if a parent dislikes an adult, can he make it so that adult is not allowed to talk or see me (assuming the parent isnt employing a restraining order)? what are the legal consequences for a child if he runs away. besides being brought back to parents. like, what if i kept running away?

Answer:
Yes they can. All child's rights flow thru parental approval until they turn 18. Juvie is no fun I understand.

Of course parents can and are allowed to dictate who, what, and where you do anything. To include friends. At least until the age of an adult and I think in most places that age is 18. Your parents can press charges and file a restraining order against the adult. Juvie! At some point the police will get tired of coming out for a missing child. It is really a waste of time and money to do so. Once they get tired of it, they will charge you and possibly ship you to juvie. You may even get a court date, at which time a judge can impose a ton of different things on you. It really isn't worth it. Growing up sucks, it's even worse if your parents aren't great. But make sure you're doing your part as well. If that doesn't work, make sure you stick with your education. It sucks, but without it you will never be able to get out from under your parents on stable ground. It a cliche but it is really true. Suffer the next few years while doing great in school, then bolt to college and a new beginning. Good luck
Its a parents job to protect their child, and that means that they "dictate" who u can or cant see. they can also punish you, keep u off the computer, give u no privalges etc. They have to provide u with food, shelter and clothing, thats it. You want to keep running away they will eventually put u in foster care or lock u up in a mental place until they figure out whats wrong with you. U can keep running, but u cant hide.
As a child you have no rights to speak of. A family is like a dictatorship and the parents rules absolutely. Any freedoms you are given are due to their love of you. So take it from there.
Children had no rights regarding parental authority. A child may be declared by the court to be a delinquent and placed in juvenile dentention facility.
