Do I need a permit for a yard sale in Scranton, PA?
-
I'd like to have a yard sale, I haven't lived in Scranton very long. Where I used to live, if you lived within city limits you had to have a permit, it was like 5 bucks. Does anyone know if I need one in Scranton? Thanks!

Answer:
From what I've found it would seem your fine, that no permit is required. The Scranton web site has a listing of the various codes the city council has enacted, look under Chapter 379 'Second hand goods and Dealers'. You only need one if you are in a commercial enterprise. Even if the city did require permits, I doubt they have someone policing yard sales to check them. Anywho, here's the link and one so you can contact the local licensing board if you want to be absolutely positive. Good luck with your yard sale.
