What is the minimum rest time required between work days in California?
-
My employer is telling me to work from 5: 15 PM to 1:30 AM on Saturday. He wants me back at 5:45 AM on Sunday and working until 2 PM. During that entire time, I have only, at max, 4 hours of rest, not factoring in the 50 minutes total worth of driving time to get from my work place to my home and back again. This is also not counting in that at any time, my employer can force me to overtime into my next shift, which has already happened yesterday to a fellow employee. Is this legal? If it is, what laws allow this to be legal? if it's not, what can I do about it?

There is none, unless you are employed in certain 'safety sensitive' positions. Richard
