Need Decease Father's Signature On My Birth Certificate?
-
My father passed on when i turned 21 and never got a chance to have him sign my birth certificate, he always said "They know who's child this is, why should i?" and somehow we all just forgot about it. Now days i wish he would've just signed it. Anyways...is there any place i can go to--to somehow have the states or government give permission to have his signature on my birth certificate? If so...what do i need and where do i start? Please i need help, thank you for your time and giving me answers!

Answer:
You dont need his signature on the birth certificate. There's no custody issue involved, and the certificate itself is only honerable with the attending doctors signature, and the mothers. The fathers is not needed.

I'm so sorry for your loss. But the answer is no. You cannot add signatures after the person dies.
Sorry, but there is no way to get a person's signature after they are deceased.
Impossible. The man is dead, putting his signature on the paper would constitute fraud.
No? if he is not alive anymore then there isnt anything you can do about it. If you want this done just for clarity of mind just to say his name is on there then maybe there can be a DNA sample done to prove you are really his kid then that info will go along with the birth certificate but this will only work if he just recently died.
I've never heard of a parent signing a birth certificate. Mine has neither parent's signature and I've used it to get my passports. Contact your state's attorney general's office if you think it's necessary
I don't believe that is possible unless maybe and I mean maybe you have some DNA from him to prove he is your father and then again I don't know if they would. I say that because a friend of mine was fighting an inheritance case and her youngest child was the daughter of the deceased so she had to prove they had the same DNA and were related. She went to his house and took old cigarettes and the court allowed them as evidence and they tested and it was positive and the child was his. I don't know if his name was entered into the birth certificate. Your father acknowleged you when he was alive and you know he is your father a piece of paper is not going to change that try to find comfort in his words God bless.
