If I'm taking a 400 mile driving trip in my car and I get tired and allow my friend to drive my car, will my insurance cover him? The car is registered under my dads name. My insurance card is also under my dads name. I'm under my dads car insurance policy. I'm not a minor I'm an adult. If I let my friend drive my car if I get tired and the cops pull him over for speeding or a moving voilation will the cops impound my car? What if my friend gets my car involved in an accident? Can his car insurance cover the accident?

Answer:
Depends on your insurance plan. Some go by age. For example, you can only drive the car if you're over 21. Also, I think some of them are specific and you need authorization by the insurance subscriber.
