What would happen person A found something illegal in person B's home?

A had been paid at the completion of job, but left tools at B's home. A and B had arranged to meet one afternoon so that the tools could be retrieved. A knew how to enter home because B had inquired about fixing a security vulnerability in the home. Apparantly A entered home hours before the scheduled time and found "drugs". A contacted a police friend, C. C came to home to verify that "drugs" were indeed illegal. C has no jurisdiction in area. Either A or C contact local police. Police obtained search warrant and seized "drugs" and computers from the home. This happened a week ago. B has not been charged with anything at this point.
