When an U.K employer informs you for a fee to get a work permit it is your obligation to pay or his?
-
I will provide the details of the email i received from a future employer Just keep in mind that i do not know her in person.I just want to know if she is trying to scam me.This employer offered me "a really nice to believe" job .How can i be sure that she is not willing to scam me ? THIS IS THE EMAIL You'll need a work permit to work in the UK legally and we as your employers will be filing for you under UK laws. The normal service for the work permit takes 8 weeks and cost around £350 but that service takes 8 weeks and might require you undergoing an interview and you might still be denied so we use the expedited process which will get processed in 5 business, without interview and with a 100% guarantee that you'll get it. The expedited service cost £875,you'll be reimbursed this fee when you arrive in London UK and you could request for half of your pay 24 hours after you pay this fee since the UK law states that Any Intended employee(foreign or domestic) whose work permit process has been initiated by the sponsoring company expeditiously can request for half of his/her pay before actually taking up the position Here is a link from the home office confirming you need a work permit and that your employers must file for you: http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf13workpermitholders#Q4

Answer:
It's a scam. You cannot expedite a work visa and the cost of £875 is ludicrous, a sponsored work visa costs £215 and nobody can guarantee that you will get a visa. You will ALWAAYS have to attend an interview. It is complete nonsense to say that there is a UK law saying foreign workers can request half their pay before taking up the poistion. UK employers cannot employ non EU nationals unless they are licenced by the Home Office to do so and there is a recruitment process that they have to follow as they cannot offer a job to a non EU national unless they have advertised the post.in trade and national press and across the job centre network. Only if no suitably qualified applicant from the EU applies can they offer the job to a non EU applicant. You would have to be interviewed, there is no way any UK company is going to offer a job to someone they have not interviewed. Do you have a degree level qualification and extensive experience in this field? If not, you stand no chance of getting a visa or competing in the job market in the UK. The ONLY way UK visas are ever issued is in the country of the applicant from a visa application centre, usually a high Commission or Embassy. The UK employer would issue you with a Certificate of Sponsorship which you take to the visa application centre with your documents and a fee of £215 which you pay direct to them. There you will be photographed and finger printed as part of the process. Visas are never processed in the UK and never by third parties, either lawyers or agencies. 070 telephone numbers can be redirected anywhere in the world and are used to make people believe they are dealing with someone in the UK. They never are. To make matters worse, these numbers are usually premium rate, so you get scammed twice. They will also have free email accounts. UK businesses do not use free email accounts. You will be asked to make payment for the work documentation by Western Union. UK businesses NEVER NEVER NEVER use this method of payment and if you are ever asked to pay for anything at all by a stranger by this method, it is 100% guaranteed to be a scam. No doubt the English is very poor. It is extremely rare to see really bad English in business communications in the UK. Unsolicited job offers are always a scam. Have nothing to do with these people. Even replying to this email will get you onto a mugs list which is sold on to other scammers EDIT It's still a scam. My bet is if you replied ot them and told them you don't need a visa as you are an EU citizen, they would either inform you of something else you need to pay for to get the job, or you wouldn't hear from them again. Everythoing they have said about work permits and advance pay is a total lie.

Listen to Maggie and the others - this is a scam. First off, I don't know a single UK employer who would ever offer a job to a person they had not interviewed, especially someone from overseas. If you were not flown to the UK, they did not fly to your country, or you did not interview in person with one of their representatives in your country, the job simply doesn't exist Second, there is no such thing as an expedited service for a work permit. Third, the ONLY people you ever pay for your visas are the British embassy/high commission/consulate or their authorised visa representative in your country when you go in person with your Home Office approval letter and passport. Never before and never to anyone else
Scam, As it says in your email the information on the linked page only confirms you need a visa and that your employers must apply for it but says nothing about fees etc nor does it confirm anything else that the email tells you. If you are still unsure forward your email to [email protected]… which is on the bottom of the link on your email. The link they sent you is legitimate The uk home office responsible ffor issuing visas and they will confirm it once and for all.
I'm going to go with scam. The reason is that she wrote "without interview and with a 100% guarantee that you'll get it." No employer can guarantee that. If you could get denied using the normal process then you can be denied using the expedited process also. Normally you prospective employer should pay any fees, as they are the ones that need to declare that you are somehow able to do a job that no UK/EU citizen can fill. That means that they need to provide a very detailed job description. "Really nice job" won't nearly cut it. If you've never met this person before, be very careful. I'd offer to pay any fees directly to the UK government. If you ask her for the government office to send the cheque to she'll very likely come up with excuses why you have to make the cheque payable to her. At which time you know for certain that this is a scam.
Have they said exactly what you will be doing? A job could be anything from brain-surgeon, all the way down to sweeper-up in a fast-food operation. Currently the situation in the UK means there is no unskilled worker intake. If we need any unskilled workers - we have a recession here - there are hundreds of applications for ANY job vacancies. I must assume that you intend travelling here from outside the European Union (EU) - we have an agreement with all countries in the EU that would allow workers from (for example) Poland to work in the UK without a work permit. There are a lot of very fine words used in their statement to you, but it looks like you won't be collecting your £875 or anything else. First you have to get to London, don't you? How will you arrive? Are they sending you plane tickets...no? What about bus tickets, and ferry tickets... no again? What exactly are you getting for your money? There is a reason that it takes 8 weeks to gain a work permit - they check your background. The immigration authority have to satisfy themselves that you have the degree-level education you need, plus the work experience in that field and the long-term job-security promised to you. Anyone claiming they have a faster way to get this paperwork is lying. EDIT: At the end of the day, this whole scenario has made you feel very suspicious and raised your guard. The picture they paint is very attractive and exceedingly well paid - (£1000 a day jobs are UNBELIEVABLY rare). You don't say much about what your skills are, I must infer they relate to fashion and photography. We DON'T have a shortage of good looking people here, nor brilliant, edgy, photographers. Have they named which company these investors 'represent'. There are many questions you have to answer: what means of transport have they provided? What accomodation have they arranged? How long will this job last, and how long will you be staying? If you are within the European union - you have no need of a work permit. That £875 fee is unecessary. We have a reciprocal agreement within all countries in the EU, to allow workers to work wherever they wish. So, what is that money for? If you are not willing to take good advice in this matter - why did you ask the question?
OF COURSE IT IS A SCAM
the correct sentence is When a U.K employer informs you for a fee to get a work permit it is your obligation to pay or his?
That is a legitimate government website, so I'd assume this is an honest bit of information. Send a reply and ask for more details of exactly what they will do, and when they will do it.
you have to pay, and they are offering to reimburse you so whats the problem
