What are the required forms of identification for getting a learners permit?

I'm going to get my learners permit tomorrow and I need to know what forms of identification I am going to need. Several people have said I NEED my social security card, which I don't have. Is it possible to go up there with other forms of identification? I currently have my birth certificate, green card saying I have been enrolled in drivers ed, school letter saying my grades and reading level are up to par, and my school transcript. Would this information be enough, or do I have to wait until I get my SSC?

Answer:
You have neglected to tell us your state. Look up Driver's license and your state and it will tell you the requirements. GEnerally, you need parental consent if you are under 18, proof that you completed a driver's ed course successfully, your birth certificate and social security card. There may be other requirements that vary for different states.
