HOW TO COPYRIGHT MY MATERIAL PROPERLY WITH COPYRIGHT.GOV?
-
I was trying to copyright some of my work(beats as a music producer) earlier and had trouble so I stopped. My parents had told me not to use there address, so I had to get a p.o. box from usps. Now my question was for SR Registration, On the parts where I have to put Author Publisher and all that, Do I just keep putting my Government Name on there or how do I process this?

Answer:
You don't "copyright" anything by filing -- your copyright is free, instantaneous and automatic from the moment you first wrote down or otherwise recorded your "original work of creative authorship". Copyright registration is completely optional -- at least until you want to sue in US federal courts. You would use your name as the author, publisher, if you are the author and publisher.
