How to install a surveillance cam?

Do you have to be certified to install surveillance equipment professionally?

• I own a computer shop and hosting company. I'd like to branch out to installing surveillance equipment, but i heard you have to be certified, otherwise you'll be fined. I can't find any information online about it. I live in Texas if that helps at all.

  In some states, yes where i live, i went down to the city building, and asked, then went to the sheriff department, as asked, we install their light bars, and electronics in their patrol cars, because of our affiliation with them, and knew our work, they allowed us to install their camera's, , they were happy, and later on when they told me that i needed to get a license, they helped push the city to grant us the license, do to the work we did before. i would suggest you become Business acquainted with your local P.D., sheriff, and jail facility, and the city council. They can give you great insight on where to go, or what to do, to get the license.
