How To Check My Credit?

I have a question for credit card/check fraud. how many years in illinois do you get for that kind of fraud?

  • so basically my boyfriend (now ex) stole 2 of my moms credit cards. one in march the other in june. it also turns out that he stole a check and wrote it out to himself (dumb i know) he has a criminal record for robbery and he had a gun on him. i knew about 2 of the credit cards. but no one can pin the credit cards on him. the check obviously they can. can i be charged as an accomplice for knowing about the credit cards and also for letting him inside my house? also... how many years time would he have to serve for this offence. please let me know. it is very important to me. my mom filed a report... but is there anyway she can drop the charges? i would greatly appreciate if someone got back to me asap. thanks

  • Answer:

Please let it go and let him go! He steals and if she does drop the charges he will then steal things from you and worst mess up your credit and so on. believe me dont let that slide..I know from experience from letting stuff slide he needs to learn from his mistakes and you do not want to get involved in that. And you should feel bad about knowing the fact that he stole from your mom she works hard think about that how would you feel if lets say your mom boyfriend comes in a steals money from you and your mother knowing about it?? THats wrong please do not be on his side she needs to go along with the charges!! And you need to be with someone better than that. Believe me i know from experience.

With credit cards, if you have, sell, or buy 2 cards that are not yours and you knowingly use them, then it is a Class 4 felony which can get you no less than one year, and no more than three years. If you have, sell, or buy 3 or more cards that are not yours and you knowingly use them, then it is a Class 3 felony which can get you no less than two years, and no more than five years. Please note that this only relates to credit card and debit card fraud.

Why would you want to drop the charges? Your mother works hard and has to pay her bills and your BF is going to come in and steal her money and you want her to drop it? Your Mom was violated and you think the kid who did this should get away with it? Why, so he can do it again to the next person? If he doesn't learn his lesson now when will he when he's stealing from you?
