When you receive food stamps for the first time, do you receive a prorated amount or full amount?
-
We are in the process of applying for food stamps. The worker told us we qualify for expedited food stamps but the process still seems to be going slow. Once we get approved and get our card will our amount be prorated for the amount of days left in the month (or benefit month) or will we receive a full amount. I'm in Missouri. There are three adults in the household, my husband, me and our son. (Hubby is on medical leave from his job and I can't seem to find a job.)

Answer:
Your first month will be pro-rated. Benefits will be given from the date you applied.

I have no idea but I would expect a prorated amount based on days remaining in the month.
