Do you have any ideas of jobs abroad?

What do you guys think about these ideas to cut our deficit and bring more jobs?

  • I think we can cut our deficit without cutting our military and before you argue with me on that, i want to enlist in the Marine Corps and I support our wars, so I really don't want to see the military cut. So here goes. 1. Legalization of Marijuana- Our government could tax it and make a lot of money, plus our police have better things to do with their time. 2. Tax cuts and not skyrocketing the minimum wage- This may seem sorta stupid, but its not. Tax cuts and not a huge minumum wage will create more jobs as business owners will hire more, and with more people working, that means taxes to the government. 3. Tax chinese products and stop outsourcing- Simple, no more outsourcing means more jobs and taxes. And taxing chinese companies will give money to the government and help american companies compete. 4. Drill oil here- Screw foreign oil. We need to drill here because we have plenty of oil and that means more jobs. 5. A solution for the drinking age- Let 18 year olds drink, but with an exception. They have to buy like a special permit per year which goes directly to the government. No hard liquor, just beer and wine. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone. 6. Take what we deserve- Iraq has oil, afghanistan has minerals. Now im not saying thats why we went to iraq and afghanistan to take their natural resources because we didn't, but i think we should take like at least 25% revenue for helping stabilize their country and that means billions of dollars to our government. 7. Cut welfare- Self explanatory, welfare has gotten out of control 8. Cut ridiculous programs- self explanatory' 9- NO MORE STIMULUS- self explanatory 10. Reform social security- People are taking more money out then they are putting in Im still debating the drinking age and marijuana thing, but still. What do you guys think.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW THAT IS CRAZY :)

Well 2 and 3, Tariffs would spark a bitter trade war, and honestly, they hold over a trillion in Treasury securities. If they dumped those securities on the world market, it would devastate the Dollar. A better solution would to be to attach the Dollar to gold, which would force them to attach the Yuan to gold, rather than the Dollar. Right now they attach their currency to the Dollar, rather than letting it float on the world market like the Dollar does. That keeps the Yuan artificially under valued, and worth less than the Dollar, making their products less expensive. Much of the outsourcing is actually because the U.S. has the highest corporate tax in the world. Drop the tax from 35% to 20%, and businesses would return to the states, and bring billions to invest with them. Social Security has never been reformed. It started with a retirement age of 65, while life expectancy was 62. Most never lived long enough to collect, those that did, only live long enough to receive benefits 2-5 years. That resulted in 40 workers for every retiree. Today, life expectancy is around 76. So while people are living longer, the retirement age has never been adjusted to accommodate more people living long enough to collect, and people collecting for a much longer period of time. That translates to 4 or 5 workers to support every 1 retired person. Raising the retirement age will upset younger people, but it should have been raised to parallel life expectancy all along. Another thing is, while economic indicators seen to reflect an economic recovery has been underway, yet the Fed is still engaging in quantitative easing. That actually a stimulus program of a different nature, but amounts to the same thing as a government stimulus. All that liquidity during a recovery, could spark inflation we haven't seen since the 70's.

I like your ideas, but I would like to know more about the Social Security Reform saying it does not do it! What would your plans be to reform it! Also , since everything is going up , do the Seniors also get percentage raises like the politicians do? Both you and Lucky Lee, the Politicians can't raise their own paychecks,. They can only get one pension from one job. No more career politicians! Cut back on the perks they can get! No more unlimited spending like Nancy Pelosi did while speaker! What about term limits for all politicians?

I agree with all counts, however there is one more I would also go to. And this is one which is not a new idea, however it is controversial for those who do not know how it works. Cut all active military in CONUS and Hawiia and Alaska down to maintanance only, such as the RNCO in the unit, medical staff, personalle such as SIDPERS and Finance. Make all the others the same as Guard. The training will be the same, the time frame the same. If we need to mobilize a unit, then they get activated, mobilized, and then, when they return, they are returned to drill status. During the first deployment in 2003 to Iraq, Camp Anaconda had the rudest awakening any active duty could ever have. 81st Brigade, the Washington Army National Guard, showed up - and in 1 WEEKEND had thier entire critical sections set up and active. It had taken the active army almost two weeks for the same. The reason is not because active army is lazy - hellno. It is because the active army is trained 24/7 to do a certain tasking, and they have longer to prepare. Due to the guard's prep, they have only three days to set up, activate, and tear down. Ok, go ahead and throw stuff at me. I have kevlar.
