How to help boyfriend get better grades?

• I have a boyfriend i've been with for a year now. I get really good grades,I love school and I put a lot of effort when there is a test or just homework (more than I have to). My boyfriend is one year older than me, he failed on 3 test on his exams.. The whole year we've been together I've always tried to help him study and courage him to study . He is really lazy and he never gets good grades, he doesn't put any effort in school and he doesn't really care. He tries to hide his grades from me and just leave it behind.. Every time he gets a bad grade I feel really really bad like it was my own grade. He never sees that I'm trying to help him and he always says give me another chance, I'll stop being lazy and get good grades but he never does. He lies to me a lot and tells me that he's studying while he's actually playing video games, or just hanging with his friends. What can I do to make him start studying? if he doesn't get better grades he needs to change school.

  I think more information might help. How old are you both? How far are you in your relationship? When I was dating my husband in high school I would deprive him of things when he did badly in school. His mother was/is a terrible person so he had no one looking after him. When we were seniors we already knew we wanted to marry so I told him if he doesn't straighten up and at least get a core 40 diploma I would not marry him. It worked. So try threatening him. If you just nag he will think you sound like his mom.
