What does it mean when someone says your digging yourself into a hole with that person?

  Digging yourself into a hole means you are getting yourself into TROUBLE. It isn't up to you who your friend decides to be with and you aren't doing your friendship any good by trying to control her life. It really isn't your place to confront a possible boyfriend with such an aggressive tone. It sounds like you may have more than just friend feelings for this girl if so let her know and if she doesn't return them the best thing for you to do is to remain supportive of her if you can. She is entitled to choose who she sees without your interference (especially lying to her). Unless she is in danger a friends place is support and advise but not to try and pull strings. She is your friend not your puppet!
