How To Make An Ex Want You Back?

How can i make things work with my ex? we have been through so much and i dont want to give up just yet.?

• so i dated this one guy for three years. i thought we were in love. then i met this incredible girl last summer. she is this butch girl who i had known from my high school the year before. we started hanging out a lot with mutural friends. she had a girlfriend of three months. and i had my boyfriend of three years. i had never been into a girl before but she was so much like a guy that it wasnt weird to me. then we started hooking up. we were instantly drawn to each other. couldnt deny the attration. within the next three months we had broken up with our significant others and were dating each other. we fell madly in love. it was unlike anything i had ever felt before. we both knew this was not just some summer fling. we knew it was real and special. then we both started our next semister of college and got super busy. it complicated things and it was hard on our relationship. we were used to the bliss of summer. then we ended up breaking up after like four months. but i didnt want to be broken up. so the next week we started talking. both of us upset and regreted it. but then i found out she got back with the girl she was with who she was with when we met. then she was upset and stuck. she didnt want to hurt this other girl again. but then her and i started hooking up secretly again like the beginning of summer. that went on for two months. every week was different. some weeks she would call it off and i told her she had to tell her girlfriend about me. she did and the girl still didnt break up with her. then her girlfriend told her that she had to stop talking to me. so me and her didnt talk for a week and when i saw them together i texted her and we started secretly talking. then a few weeks later we were hooking up again. finally my ex broke up with her girlfriend a week ago. she was happy and i was relieved that we could finally be allowed to be together. so all of last week we were hanging out and she was telling me how much she loved me and it was perfect. then this past weekend she told me she needs to be single for awhile and wants to be just friends. but we have said that before and we just cant be friends. too much sexual chemistry. so since then we have been hanging out and im trying to hold back so much it kills me. she doesnt talk to me as much and i can tell she is holding back too. we try to act happy but we just are not people who can be friends. we are meant to be togehter. and when we arehanging out sometimes she will hold my hand or kiss me or something like that...it confuses me. but i dont know what to do. she needs to get over her ex before we can get back together. do you think she is just playing with my heart. what can i do to help her out? what can i do to make this work? i dont want to mess this up or lose her because i care about her more than i have anyone before. her and i talk about the future all the time. like going on trips and stuff. so i know she wants to be together someday....at least i think. do you think her wanting to be single and get over her ex for a bit is just an excuse.? please help me understand in anyway you can.
