How do I make a ghillie suit?

How do I Make a Simple Ghillie Suit?

  • Answer:

A ghillie suit is the suit used for blending in flawlessly with your natural surroundings. Often worn by marine snipers, this suit is easy and quick to make and can also be used for hunting, nature photography and sniping. Difficulty: Moderately Easy Things You'll Need Old pair of coveralls 4 yards of burlap Medium green dye Dark green dye 2 ice cream buckets Instructions Wash the burlap. Cut a 1/2 yard off of the burlap. You will not dye this section. Continue to divide the burlap, one section per dye. Use ice cream buckets to mix your dyes in. Once they are mixed, then put in the burlap sections. Follow the directions on your packages for the dyeing process. Cut all of the burlap into varying sizes, make them between 2- to 3-inches wide and up to 1-foot long. You do not want them to be the same size. Sew one end of the strips to the coveralls. Mix the different colors, including the brown burlap strips. Cover the suit. You cannot add too many. Tips & Warnings Tip: Dye the burlap the colors that blend in naturally in your environment. Tip: Tie some small twigs and leaves to the burlap strips, or other natural items from your environment.
