What Ski size should I purchase?

Want to purchase item but parent disapproves--morally incorrect action?

• A close friend of mine sent me a link to an item he's purchasing and wanted to know if I wanted anything; I found a pair of ski poles that are 61% off. I asked my mother if I could purchase them and she declined saying 'They're too short' for you. (The recommended TRADITIONAL ski pole size for my height is 44"; the ski pole I'm looking at is 42-40" which is not a large difference in height and is actually recommended considering what I do with my ski poles most of the time, which is the NEWSCHOOL style of skiing, as in, doing tricks and the like.) However, I still really want to purchase those poles; I have the money, but not the permission. So I'm contemplating e-mailing my friend and asking him to buy it for me as a "gift" which I will immediately repay him for so it doesn't look like I went behind her back and bought them. Would this be morally incorrect? Can I go through with this? I'm paying him back, and, my mother, to be honest, doesn't know as much about ski gear and ski related items as I do, but I don't want to confront her about it and seem rude to her.

  It's your money!! And your life!! DO IT! you dont tell her how to spend her money why let her tell you how to spend yours.
