How to make ideas worldwide?

Fundraising question... how can I make these ideas work?

  • I realize that this is a difficult situation because I've been wracking money for ways to raise funds, but it's not for a group or an organization, it's for a personal need I have. Ive come up with some ideas, but I'm not sure how to implement them. I would like to know how much money I could realistically expect to earn from my ideas... I have three months, and work two jobs and I am freaking out about money. I have some ideas but they just don't sound auspicious I already have a full time job, and a second job. It's a temporary job and i am applying left and right for more temp jobs or part time jobs. Selling my artwork, on craigslist or Ebay, Making jewelry, or knitting scarves, and selling them... online on Entsy, for example,. Giving private classes in Spanish (I am a Spanish teacher) Some sort of self-employment, such as mowing lawns, washing cars etc. Selling my unwanted clothes and other items on Ebay. These are my ideas. Please help me, because I have struggled and I am in so much trouble... I don't want money but just advice. I am ashamed to ask but nearing the end of my rope. How much could I realistically expect to raise, and how can I put these ideas into effect? Thank you SO much if you can help... I'll love you forever...

  • Answer:

I think the most lucrative idea is giving private Spanish lessons. My daughter is a language major, she has been working at the university since she was 14 as an interpreter. She works about 75 minutes a day, 5 days a week instructing grad students in Japanese and helping them with their English, she also goes to all sorts of local functions with them to help them acclimate to the culture here. She gets paid $280 per week, and $14 an hour to go on the functions with them and they pay her way into everything, like ball games, shopping trips, trip expenses, travel expenses.I don't know why you couldn't do something like that where you live. She is employed at the colleges Language and Cultural center. Good Luck.

I am a single mom, and have been since 1996. I have been creative in ways to earn extra money. I used to clean houses for working women, this paid pretty well and it was flexible hours. I don't recommend selling on Ebay because of the costs to list involved. However if you list on Craigslist.org in your local area you will post items for sale and get immediate sales, instead of waiting for auctions to end, etc. It's free and easy to do. Another thing I've done is hit up my neighborhood book stores like Goodwill and garage sales and find popular books or recently used textbooks and sell them on half.com. They allow a certain amount for shipping costs and believe it or not, selling books at .75 or more, really adds up over a month's time. I buy envelopes at the dollar stores and am at the post office at least a couple times a week with hands full of envelopes to send out. Ask friends and family for any of their already read books and anything else they want to discard of that you can list on craigslist or half.com, it is a simple way to bring in much needed extra income. Hope that helps!
