Is there such a thing as international lawyer?

Lying lawyer, told me one thing, then changed his "tune"?

  • When I first went to my "divorce" lawyer 3 years ago, he told me that my "husband" would have to pay for my attorney fees (this was said in front of a friend I took along), so 3/4 of the way thru a messy, nasty divorce, he said "i never said that", yes he most certainly did, now I'm left standing with $300,000 in attorney's fees (he hired all these "professional people" for my case)....in the meantime, I have wondered who's side he is really on....is there anything I can do?

  • Answer:

Have another lawyer sue the lawyer. They love it when they can sue each other. Have it done on contingency with everything in writing beforehand. Ineffective counsel and possibly fraud or unprofessional conduct.Meanwhile, register a formal complaint with the State Bar Assoc., which the new lawyer should draft.Do NOT pay a penny when it's it dispute, but keep that money in a separate account in case the judgment goes against you.If this new action or the fees from the first lawyer will tap you out, you may want to investigate bankruptcy proceedings.
