Do married women fantasize a lot about other men?

  • I think most if not all married men see an attractive woman and briefly think about a sexual encounter but don’t act on it. Do women think the same way? My wife and I have been married for five years and she is very honest with me. She tells me everything as far as I know. She told me the other day that she has been fanaticizing a lot lately about being with another man. She asked me if I would be okay with her sleeping with another man. She swears that it would just be sexual if I let her and that she has nobody in particular in mind. She has two reasons for considering this: 1. In her life she has had five orgasms three of them with me and none in the last couple of years. She wants to know if it is she or I that she can’t have an orgasm. 2. She tells me that she is just completely stressed and needs to escape. She is stressed because we have 1 child together and I have custody of 2 from a previous marriage that live with us and drive her nuts. My son from my previous marriage is having a lot of problems that she has to deal with daily and she says she just wants to escape for a week. This would include possibly having sex with another man. I was very hurt when she told me she has been thinking about this. We talked about it and I told her I am not capable of sharing her like that. She assured me that it is not something she would ever do without my permission nor does she know if it is really something she wants…it is however at very minimum a fantasy. What she really wants is to escape the stress for a week and not be bored as well. She just thought it sounded fun to have a sexual escapade but did not realize it would hurt me so. She also stated I could do the same. I asked her if it would bother her once we were back together to know I had been with another woman. She told me it would for a couple days but she would get over it. Anyhow she now knows that I have no desire to sleep with other women nor do I want to share her with other men. Again she assures me that she will never cheat on me and I so want to believe her. My problem is that we had this conversation 3 days ago and its still all I think about. I feel sick at times cause I am very concerned. How do I stop thinking about this? What I would like to hear is that these thoughts are normal for women and that they just usually keep them to themselves. My previous wife cheated on me and was not honest at all. A big reason why I love my current wife so much is because of her honesty. However I am having a real hard time coping with this information. Any insight from married women would be much appreciated!

I'm sorry if this sounds harsh. But EVERYONE fantasizes, and your wife it seems is looking for permission to cheat. I would never share my husband with anyone, nor would I want to go somewhere else. Thats what love is about. I think she is kinda sick for wanting to have a fling or whatever you want to call it, trust me, its not normal. Its okay to have some fantasies, but to even consider acting on them, well, thats taking things to a whole other level. Just my opinion.

Your wife sounds pretty normal to me, I have wondered also what it would be like if a guy just took me and as your wife said no particular guy and no emotions attached just sex, sometimes this is the best kind of sex because there are no expectations and I think this is what your wife is craving she is feeling overwhelmed in the home is needed by so many people in the home for so many things even if it is just someone they need to scream at and she just needs to do "stuff" where no one expects anything from her, hope this makes sense and helps you!

This is a terrible idea. Her "escaping" for a week isn't going to make her feel any better. If her own husband can't give her an orgasm, then why does she think a stranger can? DO NOT give her permission to have sex with anyone else and work on your own marriage. And giving her more orgasms. I'd be depressed and frustrated too if I'd only had 5 orgasms in my life.

Yes, sometimes I think of other men, but I usually don't have any one person specifically. Usually its just someone made up, or a famous person..something like that. But, Ive only had sex with my husband, and that's it. And, usually I dont think of having sex with other men, but I think of kissing them...dont know why..I just love kissing, it's the most romantic thing to me. I get annoyed with my husband sometimes, and bored. Plus, he is deployed, so at first it's hard, but once you get used to it I think that is why I feel like kissing or having sex because Im not getting any of it now!! lol! But, her escaping for a week or so would be great for her, but her having sex with another man would not! You two should take a vacation together,...go on a cruise or something. Take the weekened, and just go for a road trip and stay in a hotel for two nights. That would be fun. If she needs to be alone, that's fine too. Send her to a weekened spa getaway. She will be around lots of woman, have her own hotel room, get massages, and get pampered. She needs it. Sounds like her having to deal with your other children is really bothering her, but she did marry you, and she did know that you had children, so if she wants to keep your marriage going than she needs to be a little more willing. But, definetly let her go to a getaway weekened. Let her know how much you love her, and if I were you I would go buy her the tickets for the spa. She would love it I think!

Yeah, we, married women, fantasize about other men, but only if they make more money than our husbands!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$…
