What kind of pay would i get?

What kind of custody of my daughter can I get from my ex girlfriend and not pay child support?

  • Pls serious inquiries only. Me and my ex fiancehave lived together for 2 and a half years under the same roof with our 17 month olddaughter and her 6 ye old son. During this time I have paid all the bills and utilities which are all in her name while she worked a 9 hr a week job just for some spending cash for herself. We fight and argue all the time and I work alot of hours to support all of them. I come home from a 17 hr shift I normaly work and she changed the lock and immediatley called the cops to make me leave. I waited for the cops to arrive and she tells them to trespass me. So they did and all my stuff .cloths documents and misc things. Well she alwys been the big ego type and knows I pull in 26 dollars an hour and says she's gonna eat me up with child support so she will always be tAken care of . She's one of those spoiled lazy types with her face in her makeup box while I bust my butt at home and drive 2 hrs to work and back and pull my full shift. She's a gold digger. Now u know a lil back ground. What kind of custody can I get without her taking my money but still not have sole custody of our lil girl. My work schedule is a rotating shift and long hours. All this women wants is my money. What do I do. She's gonna kill me if she wins and I have to pay child suport to her. I will always provide my lil angel with whatever she needs as she grows but my money will not go to her but my ex fiancé. Sorry so long . Pls help. I'm btw I am moving 2 hrs away from our home so I don't have to drive so far for work. Any advise we live in Texas but I'm moving to oklahoma

  • Answer:

Well first of all, you would have to have 50%/50% joint custody to avoid paying child support. Also many people don't know this if she files child support on you even though you both get 50/50 custody (some women do), you can turn around and open a case against her for child support also, through your local child support agency. The more time you spend with the child the less you have to pay. The child support is based on your salary, her salary and the amount of time you spend with your daughter and your filing status (single, head of household, married, etc). They also consider union dues, work equipment and other children from other relationships you have to support. You would also have to go to mediation prior to seeing the judge to try to work out a visitation custody arrangement with the mother. If that does not work, the judge will set the terms. If your ex goes on public assistance (welfare) your screwed you will be forced to payback the system for the cash aid she receives. I worked with the court system (family law) for Los Angeles courts, so I know. Also there may be an issue with you moving out of state (taking your daughter across state lines). All I can tell you is go to a legal aid office that provides legal advice to individuals based on income and the family facilitators office in the court house in your city/state for some direction if it comes to that point for custody and child support. Both offices can guide you with some sense of direction.
